■About this ingredient
Banlangen is the root of Ryukyuai (horse indigo), Taisei (pine indigo), and Narrow-leaved Taisei.
●In China, it is treasured as an essential herbal medicine for treating hepatitis, influenza, parotitis (mumps), tonsillitis, etc.
●When Hepatitis A was once prevalent in Shanghai, it played a major role in prevention and treatment.
●Even today, it is commonly used not only for hepatitis B and C, but also for influenza.
●The effect of Isatis Familiaris Radix hot water extract on influenza virus A (and B) was investigated. The results suggested that Isatis Familiaris Radix may be useful in suppressing influenza.

Daiseiyo (big green leaf) and Banlangen (white root)
Taste: Bitter, cold.
Meridians: Heart, stomach meridian.
[Pharmacological action] Daqingya is the leaf and Banlangen is the root of the same plant.
It has the effects of clearing heat, cooling blood, and detoxifying. In the laboratory, it has been proven to have an inhibitory effect on Salmonella typhi, hemolytic streptococcus, Escherichia coli, Shigella, and Staphylococcus aureus.
In recent years, it has been noted for its extremely strong effectiveness against viral diseases. In particular, a decoction of Daqingbai and Banlangen has been very effective against mumps.
In China, it is commonly sold as "Banlangen Tablets."
It has also often been reported to be effective against influenza, Japanese encephalitis, measles, hepatitis, etc.
Currently, it has become an indispensable drug for the treatment of viral diseases.
<Used to treat taitou fu> Taiitou fu is also called "taitou fu" or "taitou shanghan" and is caused by an epidemic warm poison that invades the lungs and stomach. It is characterized by redness and swelling of the head and face, suppuration of the throat, and severe pain .
<Epidemic spotted rash> is an epidemic fever. When the plague toxin enters the blood and accumulates in the bloodstream, it causes fever, dry mouth, headache, sore throat, nosebleeds, skin rash, and purple tongue.
This is thought to refer to what is called a viral epidemic in modern medicine, and this drug is used as a specific remedy for it.
<Swollen and sore throat> When wind-heat poison fire attacks the throat, it causes fever, headache, constipation, and a swollen, hot and sore throat. This medicine is effective in treating these conditions.
[Dosage] The usual dosage is 6 to 15 g, but in severe cases, up to 30 g is used.
The usual dosage of Banlangen is 4.5 to 9g, with up to 15g being used in severe cases.
[Precautions for use]
Use with caution in those with spleen and stomach deficiency and cold.
- Both have the effects of clearing heat, cooling blood, and detoxifying, but compared to Isanthus Root, Daqing Leaf is superior in cooling blood, detoxifying, and causing skin rashes to disappear.
Banlangen is excellent for treating throat swelling, pain, and large head ulcers. It is particularly effective against mumps. It has also been reported to be effective against hepatitis.
